Celebrating fruit and vegetables in the best vegetable and fruit town from Belgium
Bazel, a small town in Belgium, is named the Best Vegetables and Fruit town in the country. This town is also home to Hofke van Bazel, a Michelin starred restaurant, which was named the Best Vegetables Restaurant 2017. On 7th May, the launch of the Vegetables and Fruit Week, has not passed in silence. We were there to capture it all!

We're Smart World Day
APICBASE partnered with We’re Smart World, an organization led by Frank Fol, internationally known as The Vegetables Chef. Their mission is to bring people and companies together to share the passion of living a healthy and environmentally sustainable life. The aim is to learn from each other in order to find smart solutions for body, nature and the world. You can read more about our partnership here.
During the We’re Smart World Day on 7th May, workshops were given by well-known chefs to inspire the public with new ways to prepare vegetables. Later in the day, the We’re Smart World Restaurant Green Guide 2018 was launched. This is a guide with the top Vegetables Restaurants in the World. Besides the workshops and the launch of the Green Guide, Frank Fol also awarded several restaurants who did their best to contribute to a sustainable and healthy gastronomy. Celebrating all day long
7th May was all about celebrating fruit and vegetables. Workshops were given, a gastronomical guide was launched and awards were presented. To end the day in style, a reception was held in the beautiful garden of Hofke van Bazel, followed by a vegetables and fruit focused dinner by Kris De Roy, chef of Hofke van Bazel.
